Sol Divide [Horizontal Hack & Slash Shooter Hybrid]

Potential Pros & Cons

PROS:
- Very Affordable
- Shooter with medieval and mythological themes
- Choose from three characters with varied abilities
- 11 spells to use on enemies
- Combines hack n' slash with shooting
- Quite challenging
- Two players can play simultaneously
- Has an "Original Mode" that possesses RPG elements
- Has multiple endings

CONS:
- Cannot save your high scores
- Cannot save your game in Original Mode (that's bad...)
- Fair music, but the soundtrack is limited
- Your character is big, which can lead to cheap deaths
- Translation is horrendous
- Audio quality sounds like it's coming off of cart-based media
- Close range melee combat is limited and repetitive
- Game design is cluttered and clumsy

Vyse States:
"This was an extremely lazy localization on XS Games' behalf. I didn't
expect the graphics to be good since the first console port of Sol Divide
was released back in 1998...and the sound quality could have been
better, but for the cheap price, I would have been satisfied with a fair
translation and nothing more. Instead, the game isn't even on par with
it's Japanese counterpart released several years earlier. Unless you
are really curious, I wouldn't waste my time. Try at your own risk."

Title Screen It's the wyvern...and it looks HUNGRY! Ok...so the fire didn't work, but how about some lightning instead!?
